About
Thomas is a photographer residing in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born and raised in Germany, Thomas found his passion for photography when he was 15 years old and his parent gave him his first SLR camera and a couple of prime lenses. Like many others, Thomas photographed landscapes, wildlife and other subjects long before he started working with human subjects.
Today, much of his work involves people. While performance art like dance, and especially ballet, has a special place in his heart and work, he also enjoys portraits and the human form in a sensual way. Inspired by David Hamilton, Thomas favors soft light and lenses as well as pastel colors for much of his work. However, many of his images of the human form are captured in B&W since it enhances the great contrast and beauty of the human body.
For Thomas design and composition become primary subjects within the frame. He loves to direct how light, shadows, posing and the model’s expression create a mood that slowly explains his greater vision, the interplay between the human form and the way it interacts with its environment. His images are studies of alluring expressions of the human body and mind.
